The most-anticipated device of H2 2013 after Xperia Z1, LG G2, and Galaxy Note 3 is the Google's & LG's (again) Nexus 5. The smartphone has been leaked tons of time, in leaked images, and in rumoured news. But, this time the Nexus 5 gave it's first look officially. Officially on Google Pay Store, confirming aka revealing a lot of details. Along with getting spotted on Google's own server, Nexus 5 hi-resolution press renders have also arrived on the web, confirming the earlier leaked Android 4.4 KitKat UI.

Google Nexus 5

The Google Nexus 5 is yet to get announced, and surprisingly the device appeared on Google Play Store, alongside the Nexus 7 2013 and Nexus 10. The listing didn't revealed the specifications, but it revealed the price tag for the Nexus 5. The page which appeared on Play Store confirmed that the device will indeed be called as Nexus 5, and will come in 16GB and 32GB versions.
"Capture the everyday and the epic in fresh new ways. Starting at $349."
The URL of the page lists the Nexus 5 as "black_16GB" (source link), which clearly reveals that, there may also be other colours of Nexus 5 (white). The 16GB version of Google Nexus 5 was listed for just $349, which is the same price as 16GB Nexus 4 (when it first went on sale last year). The pricing of 32GB version is yet unknown, but most probably it will be priced at $399.

Google Nexus 5 listing

The appearance not only confirmed the pricing of the device, but also detailed the new Google Experience Launcher that has been rumoured to arrive with Nexus 5.

Google Nexus 5An official press render (above) of Nexus 5 has also been extracted from the listing. The press render confirms the new look of vanilla Android, with major/minor tweaks, which include, transparent status bar with white theme, transparent navigation bar, and changed camera, phone, folder and menu icons, along with a new stock wallpaper. The time on the press render is 4:40, which means, Nexus 5 will come running Android 4.4 KitKat.

One thing which can also be noticed on the press render is the missing of Messaging icon. This matches the previous leak of Google's replacement of stock messaging by Hangouts.

The first Nexus 5 press renders was leaked by Canadian blog Mobile Syrup. Those press shots come from promotional material of Telus, which is a Canadian Telecom operator. According to Mobile Syrup report, Telus will probably be carrying the Nexus 5 in Canada.

Last but not the least is the leaked retail packaging of the Nexus 5. Some pictures have leaked of the retail packaging for the white Nexus 5. As you can see in the images, the device has a black front and side plate, but a white back, which is a style that Google has used before on Nexus 4. These images were first spotted on Underkg.com, but later removed and then again found on Google+ (source below).

In addition to the news, according to TuttoAndroid, there won't be any model of Nexus 5 with 3,000 mAh battery, as rumoured earlier. As per their report, Google will be releasing only two variants of Nexus 5, a 16GB and a 32GB, both with 2,300 mAh of battery.

For your reminder, the Google Nexus 5 is reported to arrive with:
  • 4.95-inch Full HD IPS TFT LCD display with 443 ppi pixel density
  • 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor
  • Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB RAM
  • Android 4.4 KitKat
  • 16GB/32GB internal storage, no microSD card slot
  • 8MP rear camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization)
  • 1.3MP front camera
  • 2,300mAh battery
  • HDMI out via Slimport & microSIM slot

After so many leaks in row, Google is expected to officially pull the cover off the Nexus 5 any moment now.
