Gionee has officially took the wraps of the Gionee Elife E7 at an event in Shanghai, China yesterday. The Gionee Elife E7 is the company's latest flagship smartphone, which is set to get launched globally in January 2014. The Elife E7 comes in wide range of colours, including Black, White, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange and Pink. According to Gionee, the smartphone will be up for pre-order in China next month and will be available beginning December 12th.
Along with 3G version of the phone, Gionee is also launching a LTE version of Elife E7, dubbed as Elife E7L. The Elife E7L will be available in the first quarter of 2014. The 16GB version of E7 is priced at 2,699 Chinese Yuan (Rs. 27,600 approx) and the 32GB version is priced at 3,199 Chinese Yuan (Rs. 32,800 approx).
The smartphone comes with some new software features, such as Double Tap to wake up the screen, similar to LG G2 KnockOn feature, Black Screen Gesture that lets you draw the gestures on the black screen to go to customized apps and Voice Control.
On the specifications front, the Gionee Elife E7 comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS OGS (One Glass Solution) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and a 2.33mm ultra-narrow frame, Adreno 330 GPU, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with Amigo 2.0 UI on top, 16MP auto focus rear camera with LED flash, 1/2.3-inch 1.34µm sensor and sapphire lens along with 8MP front facing camera.
The E7 is 9.5mm thin and weighs 150 grams, and also comes with 2,500 mAh battery, LTE/3G support, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS, DTS Audio, USB 2.0, OTG and NFC.
The smartphone's RAM varies according to the internal memory, with the 16GB variant featuring a 2GB RAM and the 32GB variant featuring 3GB of RAM. The Elife E7 is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 processor and the Elife E7L (the LTE version) is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974AC processor.
Gionee has officially confirmed that Elife E7 will be coming to India in January 2014, no word on pricing and exact release date. The company has also confirmed that they will be also launching the mini version of Elife E7, dubbed as Elife E7 Mini, which was leaked yesterday. There is no word on when the smartphone will be launched officially.
