5-inch Micromax A116i with HD display, Android 4.2 now available in India for Rs. 12,090

Micromax has silently released an updated version of Micromax Canvas HD A116 in India in the form of Micromax A116i. The smartphone has been spotted for sale on various Indian e-commerce site, which include, eBay India and Maniac Store. The A116i comes with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean on-board, rest of the specifications are the same as its predecessor. 

The price of Micromax A116i varies between Rs. 12,000 - Rs. 13,500. It is a bit strange to see Micromax release the same smartphone with an updated Android version.

To remind you all, Micromax has already released Android 4.2 update for Canvas HD, so rather than releasing a new smartphone, why not Micromax release the new stocks of Canvas HD with Android 4.2 pre-installed.

Leaving all that for now, the Micromax A116i comes with a 5-inch HD display, 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor, PowerVR SGX 544 GPU, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, 1GB RAM, 8MP rear camera with LED flash, 0.3MP front facing camera, dual-SIM support, 3G connectivity and 2,000 mAh battery.
