HTC has silently started rolling out the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the HTC Butterfly smartphone starting today. The update is rolling out over-the-air and is already available in Malaysia. The update brings new firmware version 3.15.707.4 along with some new features and changes. Other regions are expected to get the update soon, maybe in a week or two.
The update is 500.58 MB long in size, so you'll probably want to download it via Wi-Fi. Changes include:
- Android 4.3 Jelly Bean
- HTC Sense 5.5 user-interface
- Imaging experience improvements
- Support custom sound track and content selection in Video Highlights
- Allow animated GIF to be create from Zoe and burst shots
- HTC BlinkFeed improvements
- View multi-country and multi-language content together
- Support offline viewing and saving articles to read later
- Create custom feeds from keyword search or RSS
- Enhanced music channel
As for the One X and One X+ users, HTC has said that both devices will not be getting any firmware update after the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
In related, HTC ROM developer LlabTooFeR has revealed that Verizon's Droid DNA will be skipping Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, and will be updated directly to Android 4.4.2 KitKat from Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
