Nokia will be going the Windows Phone way forever is something that has been iron clad by now but the company will indeed take help from Android. Nokia will soon introduce its first budget Android handset codenamed the Normandy soon at the MWC 2014 or on 25th March, 2014. The latest word on the street suggests that the device might be named the Nokia X or it is just another codename.

Nokia Normandy

The news seems pretty credible as it comes courtesy of @evleaks which has had a credible record in leaking devices and details. The device's first press shot render was leaked by the same twitter handle as well. Let us recall what all the Nokia X/Normandy brings to the table.

The Nokia X will be a dual-SIM device and will borrow a lot of design clues from the Asha lineup. It will run on Android 4.4 KitKat which would be pretty good for a budget device. It will have a skin on top which will resemble Windows Phone. Expect it to be priced around the Rs. 6,000-6,500 mark because you can get the Lumia 520 for about Rs 7,500-8,000 and Nokia surely would not like to undercut its sales.

It will feature a 4-inch FWVGA display, 5.0MP rear camera without flash and will have a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor under the hood which will team up with an Adreno 203 GPU. The smartphone is expected to be the leader of the budget segment once it hits the Launchpad.

Will Microsoft be okay with it? That is something that remains to be seen.
