Great news for Galaxy Note 2 owners, Samsung has finally started rolling out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the international model of Galaxy Note 2. The update is currently rolling out via Kies and is available in France. It is expected to arrive in other markets in the coming days. To remind you, this is the second major update of the smartphone, last was the Android 4.3 update which happened in November 2013.
This update for Note 2 brings new build number N7100XXUFND3. As stated above, the update is currently rolling out via Samsung PC software Kies, and will be available over the air (OTA) soon. You can manually check for the update by going to Settings > About Phone > Software Update.
The update brings Android 4.4.2 KitKat along with Project Svelte optimizations, updated Hangouts with SMS/MMS support, wireless printing support, immersive mode, colour emoji support, NFC tap-to-pay support, improved closed captioning support, stronger security, transparent status bar and more.
TouchWiz wise, the update brings white status bar icons, camera shortcut on lock screen, music album art on the lock screen and better keyboard layout. Along with addition of Samsung Wallet and KNOX Security apps.
