Samsung originally debuted the Galaxy S5 back in February 2014 at MWC in Barcelona. The Korean giant then on March 27th announced the smartphone in India. Samsung didn't revealed the exact price of the Galaxy S5 at the launch but just announced that the smartphone would be priced between Rs. 51,000 and Rs. 53,000. Now NDTV is reporting that the Galaxy S5 will be priced at Rs. 51,500.
Also, Mumbai based retailer, Mahesh Telecom has again confirmed that the Galaxy S5 will be priced at Rs. 51,500, which is the MOP of the device. The MRP of the Galaxy S5 will be Rs. 54,300.
Mahesh Telecom has also revealed that Samsung is offering 20% cashback on Citibank credit cards on purchase of Galaxy S5, which translates to the fact that Citibank customers could get the device for as low as Rs. 41,200.
Samsung has already started taking pre-orders of the Galaxy S5 in India. The smartphone will be available for purchase across India starting April 11th. If you are unaware, Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with a 5.1-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, Exynos 5 Octa-Core processor, 2GB RAM and Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Samsung's TouchWiz user-interface on top.
The smartphone also comes with a 16MP rear camera with LED flash, 2.1MP front facing camera, 16GB / 32GB internal storage with up to 64GB supported microSD card slot and 2,800 mAh battery. In addition to all those specs, the Galaxy S5 is IP67 dust and water resistant. The smartphone also comes with Fingerprint scanner, Ultra Power Saving Mode, Quick Connect, Download Booster, Private mode and Kids mode.
