13th May is when we all will witness the launch of the cheapest handset from Motorola in the form of Moto E. Courtesy of an Indian import/export website Zauba, the variant details, pricing and model name of the device have been leaked. The device will come in three variants: XT1021 (single SIM), XT1022 (dual SIM) and XT1025 (dual SIM with digital TV). According to Zauba listing, Moto E has been imported to Bangalore, which happens to be the same city where Flipkart's head office is situated.
Since, Flipkart has already begun importing the device in the country, it is expected to go on sale soon after the launch on May 13th.
The countries which will follow include UK, Brazil and Mexico but they might not get it on the same day. The value of Moto E as per Zauba is Rs. 6,330, so expect it to cost around Rs. 8,000-9,000, after taxes and margin for Flipkart. Motorola is staying true to its promised of launching a device which is 'priced for all' as the invite said so.
Previous report suggests that the Moto E will come fitted with a 4.3-inch display of unknown resolution, 1.2GHz dual-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat. The smartphone could also come with 4GB of in-built storage with microSD card slot, a 5MP rear camera and a 1,900 mAh battery. The Moto E is said to measure only 6.2 mm in thickness, whereas the Moto G has a hefty build measuring 11.6 mm.
Motorola has been able to get back in the game with launch of the Moto G which has been very successful. Expect the Moto E to do so too.
