Wearable technology is the next big thing in the technology arena and it is indeed becoming pretty popular because of the smartwatches and smartbands on sale. The next big thing is smart eyewear and Google has started the trend by launching the Google Glass. It does not have a rival till now but seems like that won’t be the case for long as Samsung is working on a Gear Glass to rival the Google Glass.
The latest rumour that has hit the interweb is that Samsung is working on Gear Glass, a wearable smart eyewear that will be launched alongside the Galaxy Note 4 later this year in September at the IFA.
The first smartwatch from the stable of the company was launched alongside the Note 3 and the first smart eyewear could very well be launched with the next generation of its popular phablet and is expected to run on Tizen like other wearable technology devices from Samsung.
Coming to what is known about the device, we do not know a lot about it. All that is known is that Samsung has applied for a slew of patents that hint towards smart eyewear. The latest patent reports suggest that the Gear Glass will come with a head-up display unit and a Bluetooth headset too.
Samsung has been denying the rumours of launching wearable smart glasses but only future will tell what the Korean giant has in store for us.
