Android based Nokia X lineup of smartphones were announced at the Mobile World Congress 2014 held in February and so soon Microsoft appears to be geared up in launching the next generation model. According to BGR India, the second generation smartphone – Nokia X2 will be unleashed in the last week of June, way too early than expected.
The report has revealed the shipment manifest of the handset bearing the codename RM-1013 and claims that the units have reached India for testing purposes.
In an earlier report, BGR India stated that the Nokia X2 will be the first smartphone in the lineup to flaunt a dedicated home button. The firm received rave reviews for not having a home button on the Nokia X that has only a back button. However, a long press on the back button was enough to go to the home screen.
Also, the lack of a regular swipe down notification bar as in the other Android smartphones made it crucial to check the notifications. Every time, users of the Nokia X lineup of phones will have to go to the home screen and access the Fastlane interface by swiping sideward. Apparently, the inclusion of a dedicated home button will fix these issues and let the users access the home screen and notifications without much hassle.
As per the leaked benchmark listing, the Nokia X2 will arrive with a 4.3-inch WVGA display, 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, Adreno 305 GPU, 1GB RAM and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The smartphone is also said to come with an 5MP rear camera, 0.3MP (VGA) front facing camera and 4GB of internal storage.
