Taiwanese tech tycoon HTC could be lagging behind in terms of competition, but the vendor has always managed to stand out ahead of the competition with its innovative offerings and new features. For instance, it was HTC that has announced the first Android smartphone – HTC Dream (G1 for T-Mobile) and the first Full HD 1080p smartphone display with the Butterfly.
Now, it appears like the vendor will be the pioneer to launch an Android smartphone with a 64-bit processor that was a part of the iPhone 5s. Lately, the firm revealed teasers on Weibo account hinting that a smartphone with an octa-core 64-bit processor will be launched on September 4th.
With HTC Desire 820 on cards to be launched soon, it is expected that it is this smartphone that will feature a 64-bit processor from the stable of Qualcomm. It is speculated that it could be using an octa-core Snapdragon 615 chipset, which has eight Cortex-A53 cores and Adreno 405 GPU.
The Desire 820 has the increased possibility of becoming the first octa-core smartphone to be launched by HTC. Also, as the device is said to be launched on September 4, it could make its presence at the IFA 2014 tech show.
