Three Flipkart Digiflip Pro tablets with Intel Atom chipsets to launch on August 27th

The Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart appears to be all geared up to expand its portfolio of tablets in the country. Back in June, the retailer launched its own tablet brand with the Digiflip Pro XT712 tablet. Now, Flipkart has announced that it is holding an event on August 27th in New Delhi to announce new tablets under the Digiflip Pro branding.

In order to announce these tablets, Flipkart has partnered with chip maker Intel and is likely to launch three such devices with Intel Atom chipsets.

According to the sources familiar with the plans of the retailer, the upcoming tablets will be priced between Rs 5,999 and Rs 15,999. Also, it is claimed that these slates will arrive with varying display sizes of 7-inch, 8-inch and 8.9-inch and run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. It is also likely for them to get upgraded to the Android 4.4 KitKat platform.

For now, there is no clear picture on the specifications of these tablets, but considering their pricing they should have entry-level and mid-range specs. Well, these tablets will be going official tomorrow at the aforementioned event and we will get to know all the details regarding the slates then.
