The rumor mills are heavily
churning details about the Galaxy Mega 2 that is speculated to be the successor
of the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Mega 6.3. The handset has been making rounds in
gossips for many months, but now the very first image of the handset has hit
the web revealing its specifications.
Well, those at GSMArena have
managed to get an image of the Galaxy Mega 2 that also has the specification
sheet. According to this image, the next generation Mega phablet will arrive
with a gigantic 6-inch HD display. On the
hardware front, it is claimed to incorporate a 1.5GB RAM as in its
predecessors along with 16GB of internal storage space that can be expanded
externally using a micro SD card.
Going by the leaked image, the
device will pack an 8MP primary snapper at its back and a 2.1MP front-facing camera. Other aspects of the Galaxy Mega 2 running
on Android 4.4 KitKat include LTE connectivity with VoLTE support and a 2,800
mAh battery to pump in enough juice to the handset. From the image, it appears
to be unclear on the chipset that is used, but it is definitely a 1.5GHz quad-core Pega Pro processor.
Some of these specifications
leaked by the image are contradictory to the specs of the Galaxy Mega 2 that
were leaked by different sources. A TENAA listing sometime back claimed that
the device will house a 2GB of RAM, whereas a GFXBenchmark database showed a 12MP primary camera paired with a 4.7MP camera at the
front.
However, the authenticity of the image remains unknown
and we cannot confirm that these specifications are the final ones.
