HTC Desire 820, Desire 820Q and Desire 816G with Android 4.4 KitKat, 13MP rear camera launched in India

HTC has officially launched the successor of Desire 816 smartphone in the Indian market on Tuesday. Dubbed as HTC Desire 820, the smartphone was originally announced earlier this month at the IFA 2014 trade show in Berlin. HTC has also launched the quad-core variant of Desire 820 in the country and is dubbed as HTC Desire 820Q. The vendor has also launched a cheaper variant of Desire 816 called the Desire 816G.

HTC has officially launched the successor of Desire 816 smartphone in the Indian market on Tuesday. Dubbed as HTC Desire 820, the smartphone was originally announced earlier this month at the IFA 2014 trade show in Berlin. HTC has also launched the quad-core variant of Desire 820 in the country and is dubbed as HTC Desire 820Q. The vendor has also launched a cheaper variant of Desire 816 called the Desire 816G.

HTC has priced the Desire 816G at Rs. 18,990. The smartphone comes in Black, White, Red, Purple and Green colours and will be available starting October.


On the other hand, HTC Desire 820 and Desire 820G comes in range of colours including Marble White, Tuxedo Grey (matte), Santorini White, Milky-way Grey, Tangerine White, Saffron Grey, Flamingo Grey, Blue Mist and Monarch Orange. There is no word on pricing details yet, but the same will be available sometime in November.

On the specifications front, HTC Desire 820 comes with a 5.5-inch HD display, Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (MSM8939) processor (4 x 1.5GHz + 4 x 1.0GHz), Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat with Sense 6 UI on top. With the release of Android L, Desire 820 will completely utilize the 64-bit capabilities of the processor, as Android L brings support for 64-bit SoCs.

The smartphone is 7.74mm thick and weights 155 grams. Other specifications include an 13MP rear camera with LED flash, 8MP front facing camera, 16GB internal storage with expandable upto 128GB using microSD card and 2,600 mAh battery. Connectivity series include 4G LTE Cat.4 / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with APTx, DLNA and GPS / GLONASS.

Whereas, HTC Desire 820Q comes with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, Adreno 306 GPU and 1GB RAM. Rest of the specifications are same as the Desire 820.

Finally, HTC Desire 816G comes with a 5.5-inch HD display, 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, 1GB RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC Sense 6. The smartphone is 7.9mm thick and weights 158 grams. Other specifications include an 13MP rear camera with LED flash, 5MP front camera, 8GB internal storage with microSD card support and 2,600 mAh battery.
