Microsoft has officially launched the second-generation Nokia X-series smartphone in the country last week. Dubbed as Nokia X2, the smartphone is the last Android-powered Nokia device launched by Microsoft as Microsoft has announced back in July that it is killing the Nokia X-series Android Phones lineup in favor of Windows Phone. Nokia X2 comes in glossy green, orange, black, yellow, white and matt dark grey colours and is priced at Rs, 8,699.
The Nokia X2 looks kindof similar to the Nokia X but has a bigger display, front camera, led flash and more. The smartphone also comes with a home button, which was missing from the original X, along with a back button, which can be used either as a back button or a multi-tasking button.
Similar to Nokia X, the Nokia X2 also runs on AOSP (Android Open Source Program) build of Android based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The smartphone recently got updated to Nokia X Software Platform 2.1, you can have a look at the change-log here. The update brought support for Google services and much more.
On the specifications front, the Nokia X2 comes with a 4.3-inch WVGA ClearBack display with resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, Adreno 302 GPU, 1GB RAM and AOSP build of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The smartphone is 11.1 mm thick and weights 150 grams.
Other specifications include dual-SIM support, an 5MP rear camera with LED flash, 0.3MP (VGA) front facing camera, 4GB internal storage with expandable up to 32GB using microSD card and 1,800 mAh battery. Connectivity series include 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
