OnePlus One reported to be released in India in December

The China based smartphone maker OnePlus that made all stones turn towards it with the launch of the OnePlus One is all set to release the device in India this December. As per a report by The Economic Times, the manufacturer is in talks with numerous e-retailers and one of them will partner with OnePlus to launch the smartphone.

The China based smartphone maker OnePlus that made all stones turn towards it with the launch of the OnePlus One is all set to release the device in India this December. As per a report by The Economic Times, the manufacturer is in talks with numerous e-retailers and one of them will partner with OnePlus to launch the smartphone.

In a recent development, OnePlus announced via its online forum that the firm has hired an executive to take charge of its India operations but did not reveal who the person is.

Regarding this, Carl Pei, Director, OnePlus Global claimed, “India is a super-hot market with rapid data growth and this is the right time to enter the market. We are talking to all three leading e-commerce players in India to start our operations. We hope to finalise our partner this week.”

It is claimed that OnePlus will be releasing the 64GB Sandstone Black variant of the One initially in the country followed by the 16GB model. The pricing of the device is expected to be around Rs. 25,000, but the final pricing is yet to be announced.

The OnePlus One was launched in April flaunting a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels and employs a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor supplemented with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 330 GPU. The device has 16GB / 64GB of internal storage options that cannot be expanded as there is no microSD card slot on-board.

The OnePlus One runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat based on CyanogenMod 11S and features a 13MP primary camera with dual LED flash. Also, there is a 5MP front facing camera for video conferencing and clicking self portrait shots and 3,100 mAh battery. Connectivity series include 3G HSPA+ / 4G LTE, Dual-band WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC and GPS/GLONASS.
