YotaPhone with dual 4.3-inch display to be exclusively available in India via Flipkart

Talks regarding the Russian tech manufacturer Yota Devices have been making rounds across the tech media since last year as the vendor announced a dual display smartphone at the CES 2013. Now, it appears like the vendor is planning to launch this smartphone in the Indian market exclusively via the online retailer giant Flipkart. This information has leaked via the newsletter that was sent out by the e-retailer.

The YotaPhone is an Android based smartphone that features dual display – a 4.3-inch LCD panel at the front with HD 1280 x 720 pixels and a 4.3-inch e-Ink panel at the back with 640 x 360 pixel resolution respectively. The screen at the back can be used to display weather, stocks, calendar appointments, social media updates and notifications and to read e-books as well. It can also be used to display an image, some quotes or to mirror content from the LCD display to view later.

Under the hood, the YotaPhone features a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor paired with 2GB of RAM and an ample 32GB of internal storage support. Fueled by Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the smartphone features a 13MP primary camera, a 1MP front-facer and a 1,800 mAh battery to pump decent backup to it.

So far, Yota Devices has launched two model of the YotaPhone, one at the CES 2013 that went on sale later that year and the other at this MWC held in February 2014 and it is yet to hit the retail shelves. In India, the vendor will launch the first generation model and it is estimated to be priced between Rs 25,000 to Rs 28,000.
