Xiaomi, the Chinese manufacturer completed its latest round of funding and announced that it raised $1.1 billion that values the firm at $45 billion. With this big achievement, the CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun has announced that the vendor will be launching its next flagship device sometime in January 2015 i.e. later this month.

Xiaomi Mi 4

Notably, he did not reveal if it is a smartphone and hence, we doubt if it could be the rumoured Xiaomi Mi 5 or Redmi Note 2 and any other device like Xiaomi Laptop or TV. However, the firm has witnessed success with its smartphone business. Also, there are reports that Xiaomi will be launching the 4G variant of the Redmi 1S on January 4, though it will not be the flagship phone.

In the meantime, a report suggests that the Chinese smartphone giant will be launching the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 on January 15th. Following the relatively small announcement of the Redmi 1S 4G variant on January 4, the vendor is likely to come up with a significant launch at the aforementioned date.

The Redmi Note 2 is claimed to be a revolutionary device with a combination of right pricing and features. It is expected to be priced aggressively at $160 on a contract, while some claim it to be priced at $145.

Going by the speculations, the Redmi Note successor is said to come with a 5.5-inch Full HD display, 64-bit Snapdragon 615 or MediaTek MT6752 chipset teamed up with 2GB of RAM. The device is claimed to pack 16GB of native storage and run on Android 4.4 KitKat topped with MIUI 6. Other aspects of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 include a 3,100 mAh battery, a 13MP primary camera and a 5MP front facing camera.

We highly doubt if Xiaomi will announce the successor of Xiaomi Mi 4 later this month, as the latter is yet to be released in other markets around the world including India.
