Samsung Galaxy S7 edge Olympic Games Limited Edition officially announced.

After getting leaked online last month and as scheduled, Samsung has officially took the wraps of the Olympic Games Edition of Galaxy S7 edge. If you are unaware, Samsung is the official partner in the Wireless Communications Equipment category for the Olympics. This special limited edition Galaxy S7 edge is same like original but based completely on Olympic theme – from design to software to box packaging.

Samsung has revealed that it will give total of 12,500 Galaxy S7 edge Olympic Games Edition phones along with Gear Icon X earbuds to all of the athletes in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Samsung will also sell 2,016 units of the same to the public starting from July 18th. The device will be available in selected countries including Brazil, the United States, China, Germany and Korea. Samsung notes that in the U.S. this special edition phone will be sold via Best Buy.

Samsung has made the Olympic Game Edition S7 edge available for pre-order in Germany. According to the listing, the device will cost €879 (~ US$971 / Rs. 65,215) and will come in a textured limited edition box.

On the design front, the Olympic Games edition S7 edge comes with unique colorway pattern featuring all the five colors of the Olympic Rings. Also, all the colors of the Olympic Rings are used in noticeable areas of the device such as earpiece, volume rockers, power button and rear camera rim.

The device also features Olympic "Worldwide Partner" logo on the lower back. On the software front, we see Olympic themed wallpapers, dialer, notification bar and more.

The South Korean company is not done yet, it has also opened three Galaxy Studios in the Olympic Park and several studios throughout Rio, Sao Paulo, and local cities in Brazil for letting fans enjoy enhanced virtual reality experiences of various Olympic sports. There's a Rio 2016 app as well for Android, iOS and Windows Phone devices, which is made in collaboration with the Rio 2016 Organizing Committee, detailing everything about the games.
