Rumors were rife suggesting that
Google is planning to take its 3D mapping capabilities with Project Tango
beyond smartphone hardware. The speculations claimed that the same will be
arriving on a 7-inch tablet that can create 3D map of the surrounding
environment using the four on-board cameras. This Project Tango Tablet is now
official and it will be offered as a tablet development kit for $1024.

As per a new report by Wall Street Journal, search engine giant Google is working on a new tablet featuring ‘advanced vision capabilities’ under the Project Tango. The report suggests that the firm is building 4,000 prototype tablets that are fitted with cameras and sensors that can map the world around them. It is said that the tablet will be launched next month and released soon after, prior to the Google I/O conference to be held at the end of June.

Google has assembled a model Android cell phone that can take in and map its general surroundings. The mechanism originates from a new activity called Project Tango, and its prepared to get the smartphone into developers' hands to see what the innovation is able to do. Google says that the smartphone will take in the measurement of rooms and spaces simply by being moved around within them.
