BlackBerry confirms BlackBerry Messenger for Android will be live on Google Play tomorrow, Micromax to pre-load it on it's Canvas smartphones

After getting spotted online on official BlackBerry website few weeks ago, BlackBerry has now officially announced that BBM aka BlackBerry Messenger for Android will be officially live on Google Play Store on September 21st, i.e., tomorrow. BBM for Android and iOS has been in news from a quite long time, and after works for years, the company is now ready to officially launch the application for both Android and iOS devices.

After getting spotted online on official BlackBerry website few weeks ago, BlackBerry has now officially announced that BBM aka BlackBerry Messenger for Android will be officially live on Google Play Store on September 21st, i.e., tomorrow. BBM for Android and iOS has been in news from a quite long time, and after works for years, the company is now ready to officially launch the application for both Android and iOS devices.

BBM for All

According to the press release issued by BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger for Android will be free on Google Play and any Android smartphone with version Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich can download BBM and enjoy using it. In addition, BBM for Android will also go live in Samsung Apps.

The features of BlackBerry Messenger for Android are:

  • Immediate conversations with friends on Android, iPhone and BlackBerry smartphones.
  • Also, see if your message has been delivered and read, or whether your contact is responding to the message.
  • Share files on your phone such as photos and voice notes, all in an instant.
  • Multi-person chats with up to 30 friends, also share photos and schedules
  • Broadcast Message, you can send a message out to all your BBM contacts at once.
  • BBM lets you post a personal message, profile picture and your current status, and lets your contacts know instantly in Updates.
  • BBM users have a unique PIN that maintains your privacy, so you don't have to give out your phone number or email address to a new or casual contact.

Micromax to pre-load BBM on it's Canvas smartphones

In related to the news, Micromax has officially announced that they will be loading BBM on it's Canvas series smartphones from first week of October. The company has partnered with BlackBerry to pre-load BBM on it's smartphones. As the app is free for all, existing Canvas smartphone owners can download the application from Google Play, as soon as it gets live.
