Google launched the Nexus 5 with Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed, which brought the Google Experience launcher, which was exclusive to Nexus 5. Google then later-on renamed the launcher from Google Experience to Google Now. Now after four months of release, Google has finally made the launcher available on Google Play Store for Google Play Edition and Nexus devices.

The launcher is no more exclusive to Nexus 5.

At the MWC 2014, it has just announced that it now has a user base of 465 million and it will finally jump on to the calling wagon in the second quarter of 2014.

WhatsApp has finally released a new update for Android which brings the much awaited privacy settings. The new update brings new Privacy options under Account section in Settings. Now, you can finally hide your "Last Seen", "Profile Photo" and "Status" from anyone. This feature was already available for iPhone users, and now that the Android users have it too.

Back in January, Blackberry had shared the news of the company developing a version of its popular instant messenger, BBM for Android Gingerbread which in technology terms is ancient. But guess what, 21 percent of the Android devices which are in use still run on it so it makes a lot of sense to capture that share as well with the messenger.

BlackBerry launched its popular messaging app, BlackBerry Messenger for Android last year in October. Unfortunately the messenger is only available for devices running on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich or higher. Now, BlackBerry has announced that they are busy building a new version of its BlackBerry Messenger for Android for Gingerbread (Android 2.3.3+) users, which will be launched in February.

Facebook has officially started rolling-out the updated Facebook Messenger app for Android and iOS today. The update was first announced about two weeks ago, and is now rolling out to all users. This new update brings all-new design and features. The new design looks like it was made for the new iOS 7, but Facebook has given some Android touch to it.

Google Nexus 5 brought Android 4.4 with it, which carried updated Google launcher, awesome Google Search and mixtured Hangouts, with new wallpapers. The smartphone version also brought some new add-ons, such as in-built Emoji and more. Folks of Droid-life got their hand on the Nexus 5 factory image, which carries all these stuffs, and they have extracted most of the core applications from it.

Update: The BBM for Android app is now available officially on Play Store. Currently BBM for Android only works with smartphones running Android 4.0 ICS or above. BlackBerry has announced that more than 5 Million BBM activations has been done in just 8 hours after the app was launched.

Earlier: About a month after the first attempt failed, BlackBerry is finally going to officially start the roll-out of BlackBerry Messenger for Android and iOS on respective app stores from today. The application will be up on Google Play Store in the next few hours, and you will be able to download it, but you won't be able to actually use it. The BBM for Android will be free for download.

The wait for BlackBerry Messenger for Android and iOS will be over soon. BlackBerry's Chief Marketing Officer Frank Boulben has revealed that, BlackBerry Messenger aka BBM for Android and iOS will be released in respective app stores soon, "within days". BBM for Android and iOS was actually planned for September launch, but due to the leaked BBM for Android app apk file the rollout was suspended.

BlackBerry has officially confirmed on their blog, that BBM aka BlackBerry Messenger for Android and iOS is delayed again, and won't arrive this week. According to a post on BlackBerry's official blog, the company is still struggling to fix issues caused by leaked version of BBM for Android app. Andrew Bocking, head of BBM at BlackBerry says that it "will take some time and I do not anticipate launching this week.

Everyone is eagerly waiting for BlackBerry to release the official BlackBerry Messenger aka BBM for Android on Play Store since yesterday. The company has announced that, BBM for Android and iOS, both are delayed, due to some technical glitches. The main reason company reveals behind this delay is the unreleased version of the BBM for Android app that has been posted online, which has reportedly been installed by over 1.1 million people.

Samsung has just released a press note which states that they will be featuring BlackBerry Messenger for Android on its self branded app store (Samsung Apps) which comes pre-installed on its smartphones. BBM for Android will first get released in Africa due to heavy users of BBM services in the country. BlackBerry Messenger for Android and iOS coming soon.

You all must have heard this long time back and after so many months (actually three), the beta version of the application is now available for the users. Three months ago, during the BlackBerry Live Keynote Event in Florida, BlackBerry announced that they will soon be launching BlackBerry Heart, the BlackBerry Messenger for Android and iOS platform and wohoo, today we are having some snaps of the application running on Android, thanks to BlackBerryOS and BGR.

Sony's remote security service, 'my Xperia' is going to roll out globally soon. Sony has announced that, they are ready to roll out the my Xperia Security service to global Xperia smartphones users. my Xperia service was initially rolled out in the Nordic countries earlier this year and after listening to feedback from users, the company is now ready to launch the service world-wide.
