Android 4.4 KitKat update for Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition rolling out starting today

After rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat update for HTC One Google Play Edition yesterday, Google has now officially announced that the Galaxy S4 GPE will also get the update starting today, any time now. The news was reported by a post by Android Google+ account this morning. The update will reach your smartphone automatically, but you can still check for it manually by going to Settings > About Phone > Software Update.

After rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat update for HTC One Google Play Edition yesterday, Google has now officially announced that the Galaxy S4 GPE will also get the update starting today, any time now. The news was reported by a post by Android Google+ account this morning. Similar to HTC One KitKat update, the Galaxy S4 update might weight in around 300MB or more. Samsung has already posted its own open source kernel files for the update, so it won't take too long to reach on your smartphone.

With the release of Android 4.4 for Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition, KitKat is now officially available for all the Nexus and GPE devices. Now, it time for other OEM's to start disclosing their plans for KitKat update.
