LG has unveiled the champagne gold variant of its Android Wear based smartwatch LG G Watch on its official Facebook page. The firm has also created a micro-site for the smartwarch that brings to light that the G Watch could arrive with a dust resistant and waterproof build. Furthermore, it is claimed that the smartwatch will have always-on display.
Last month, LG unleashed the Stealth Black color variant of its G Watch. While none of the specifications such as the battery capacity or processing power is revealed, the new image shows that the device will have a magnetic charging port at its back. It is beleived that the smartwatch will feature a 1.65-inch IPS LCD display, 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage.
It has been announced that the G Watch features changeable straps, while the champagne gold variant that has been revealed in the image includes a white colored rubber strap. Maybe, the South Korean tech firm could launch a metal strap in future as Motorola did with the Android Wear based Moto 360.
Media reports suggest that the LG G Watch will go on sale starting from end of June or early July for a price of £180 (approx. Rs 18,400) in UK. The smartwatch is believed to face a tough competition as several other vendors such as Samsung, HTC, Asus and others are also being roped in by Google to launch Android Wear based smartwatches.
