Starting today, the latest Samsung flagship smartphone, Samsung Galaxy S5 along with newly announced Gear devices including Samsung Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit are available in 125 countries including the US, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and most Asian markets. Samsung announced these devices at MWC in Barcelona this year in February and on March 27th, the company launched them in India.
Earlier this week, the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and the Gear Fit went on sale in India, and starting today the Galaxy S5 is also available in India.
The smartphone is now available for purchase from various e-retailers and brick and mortar stores including official Samsung India eStore for Rs. 51,500. Samsung is offering 20% cashback on Citibank credit cards on purchase of Galaxy S5, which translates to the fact that Citibank customers could get the device for as low as Rs. 41,200.
Specifications-wise, Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with a 5.1-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, Exynos 5 Octa-Core processor, 2GB RAM and Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Samsung's TouchWiz UI on top.
It also comes with a 16MP rear camera with LED flash, 2.1MP front facing camera, 16GB / 32GB internal storage with up to 64GB supported microSD card slot and 2,800 mAh battery.
Connectivity series include fifth generation Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with 2X2 MIMO, Bluetooth 4.0 BLE / ANT+, USB 3.0 (covered), NFC and IR Remote.
In addition to all those specs, the Galaxy S5 is IP67 dust and water resistant. The smartphone also comes with Fingerprint scanner, Heart rate sensor, Ultra Power Saving Mode, Quick Connect, Download Booster, Private mode and Kids mode.
