Samsung has started rolling out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for two of its Galaxy series devices. The KitKat update is now rolling out for the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 and the Galaxy S4 Active. The update for the Mega 6.3 is currently available in Russia, whereas the update for S4 Active is rolling out in the Netherlands.
The updates are rolled out in batches, so it might take some time to reach your smartphone. Other countries are expected to get the update in the coming weeks.
Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for both Mega 6.3 and S4 Active are available for download via Samsung's PC software Kies. You can manually check for the update by going to Settings > About Phone > Software Update for over-the-air updates.
The update brings Android 4.4.2 KitKat along with Project Svelte optimizations, updated Hangouts with SMS/MMS support, wireless printing support, immersive mode, colour emoji support, improved closed captioning support, stronger security, transparent status bar and more.
TouchWiz wise, the update brings white status bar icons, camera shortcut on the lock screen, music album art on the lock screen and better keyboard layout.
