Since quite sometime, HTC has been rumored to be working on a premium variant of its current flagship model – HTC One (M8). The alleged HTC One (M8) Prime was speculated to boast a Quad HD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels to combat with the LG G3 and the other unannounced model – Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime.
However, latest reports suggest that the One (M8) Prime has been cancelled by the Taiwanese tech firm. Revealed by @evleaks, this claim has created a buzz in the smartphone arena across the world. But, there is no claim suggesting the reason for the cancellation of the HTC One (M8) Prime that was speculated to be announced in September.
HTC has got only limited resources, it is known that it would be tough for the firm to produce the Quad HD display panels for the One (M8) Prime. This could be a prominent reason for the termination of the premium variant.
Moreover, HTC will definitely announce the launch of the One (M8) Max, the enlarged variant of its flagship smartphone sometime later this year and hence, the One (M8) Prime’s announcement in September could confuse the consumers in making a choice.
It has to be noted that the One (M8) Ace has recently been announced in China as the One Vogue Edition and it does feature a similar spec sheet as the One (M8) expect for the Duo Camera and the premium build materials.
