Samsung launched its latest flagship smartphone dubbed the Galaxy S5 in India couple of months back. The smartphone was initially available across the country starting from April 11. Samsung launched the Galaxy S5 in India with a hefty price tag of Rs. 51,500. A week after the availability, price of Galaxy S5 was dropped by Rs. 5,000. And earlier this month, the smartphone was available for just Rs. 42,599.

The condition has changed again. Samsung Galaxy S5 is now available in India for under Rs. 40,000 from various online retailers.

Online retailer Snapdeal is offering the white version of Galaxy S5 for just Rs. 39,589, with the gold one for Rs. 39,937 and black colour Galaxy S5 is available for Rs. 40,011. On the other hand, Amazon India is offering the same in black for just Rs. 39,999. And finally India's leading online retailer Flipkart is offering the Galaxy S5 (in black and white) for just Rs. 40,980.

This reveals that, in a month, the price of Galaxy S5 in India has been dropped by Rs. 12,000. The huge fall in price might be because of two reasons: Galaxy S5 is not selling well in India or Samsung wants to compete with HTC and Sony in the pricing arena.
