We have been coming across several rumors about the Galaxy S5 Prime for quite sometime, and the rumor mills seem not to rest. The Galaxy S5 Prime is rumoured to be the premium variant of the flagship Galaxy S5 and is believed to come with advanced specifications and build. The handset has once again popped in a leak that actually reveals the possible pricing of the beefed up version.
Lately, the handset was stated in a Samsung document without any other details regarding its specs or features. Now, the Galaxy S5 Prime with an alleged model number of SM-G906S has been spotted in a pricing database in Hong Kong. The SM-G906S is priced at 5,020 Hong Kong dollars, which is ~Rs. 38,830 ($647).
Apart from the price, it has been listed that the premium model will come equipped with the latest Snapdragon 805 chipset based on 64-bit architecture, while another model of the handset would arrive with an Exynos processor with Intel LTE modem.
Other specifications that are brought to light by the listing include a Quad HD display boasting a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, 3GB of RAM and a 16MP main camera at the back. It is also believed to run on the yet to be released Android 4.4.3 KitKat operating system that is said to be rolled out to the other flagship models as well.
Lately, there have been speculations suggesting that Samsung could produce only limited units of the Galaxy S5 Prime (SM-G906S), as the cost of developing the QHD AMOLED panels is high. Moreover, the listing reveals the phone’s name as Galaxy S5 LTE-A tipping that it be exclusive only to the Korean market.
The listing could be fake or could have been based on earlier rumours, so its better to take the whole story with a pinch of salt. To know more about the Galaxy S5 Prime, we need to wait until Samsung launches its premium model.
