Xiaomi earlier today has officially launched its first smartphone in the Indian market. Xiaomi is best known for launching devices with high-end specifications at extremely low price-tag. The company is also referred as Apple of China. Xiaomi has officially launched its flagship Android smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi3 in the country. The smartphone has been priced at just Rs. 14,999 and will be available starting July 15th.
There is no word on how company plans to retail the Mi3 in the country, but according to previous reports, Xiaomi will partner with India's biggest online retailer Flipkart to sell its devices, similar to what Motorola is currently doing with the Moto E, G and X.
Along with Mi3, Xiaomi has also launched the Mi Power Bank in the country. The power bank comes in two capacities, 10400 mAh and 5200 mAh. No information on pricing and availability details yet.
Talking about the specifications, Xiaomi Mi3 comes with a 5.0-inch Full HD IPS display with 441 ppi pixel density, 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974AB) processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB RAM and MIUI V5 based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The smartphone is 8.1mm thick and weights grams.
Other specifications include an 13MP rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front facing camera, 16GB fixed internal storage and 3,050 mAh battery. Connectivity series include 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, WiFi-Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and A-GPS. It has to be noted that Xiaomi phones in China does not comes with support for Google apps, but Xiaomi has included them in the Indian models.
