The Android 5.0 Lollipop update is claimed to bring about numerous changes to the Samsung flagship smartphone including tweaks to the customized skin and homegrown system applications as well.

Earlier, a test build of Galaxy S5 running the Android 5.0 Lollipop update confirmed those changes on the proprietary TouchWiz interface. The TouchWiz skin was subjected to rave reviews for being outdated for several Android versions as it was based on Halo guidelines.

The newer version of the skin appears to be devoid the blue theme that is pretty old. It is expected to arrive with enhanced Dialler, Clock, Memo, Messages and other system applications as per the Material Design guidelines. However, it has to be noted that Samsung is yet to confirm the rollout of the Lollipop update for Galaxy S5.

On the other hand, several other vendors such as Sony, HTC and Motorola have confirmed the list of those devices that will receive the update. Besides the Galaxy S5, Samsung is also expected to rollout the update to other top tier offerings including Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3.
