LG G3 to get Android 5.0 Lollipop update in Q4 2014, Asus Zenfone-series in Q2 2015
Manufacturers such as Motorola, HTC and Sony have announced the roll-out plan of the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for their high end offerings, soon after the commercial release by Google. Gradually, several other manufacturers are also revealing their update plans with Asus and LG being the latest ones revealing that they will update the PadFone S, PadFone Infinity, Zenfone-lineup and G3 & G2 devices to Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Talking about LG, the German Facebook page of the firm has revealed that the company will be rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to its current flagship model, the G3 at first. This update is claimed to be rolled out by the end of this year that is faster than the 90 day roll-out assured by HTC.
However, it will vary depending on the regional and carrier update schedule. It is slated that the LG G2 will receive the update shortly after the flagship model, but the specific time is not revealed.
Besides LG, Asus has also announced its update plans via ZenTalk forum revealing that the Zenfone 4, Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 6 including the Zenfone 5 LTE smartphones would receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update in April 2015 along with PadFone S.
