HTC One (M8) and One (M7) to get Android 5.0 Lollipop in 90 days of final software release

Soon after the announcement of the Android 5.0 Lollipop version of the Android, Taiwan based tech giant HTC has confirmed that it be rolling out the Lollipop update to its smartphones within 90 days of receiving the final software from the search engine giant. Soon after the announcement of the Android 5.0 Lollipop version of the Android, Taiwan based tech giant HTC has confirmed that it be rolling out the Lollipop update to its smartphones within 90 days of receiving the final software from the search engine giant. HTC will be updating its One lineup of smartphones and other select devices to Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Google is still tweaking the Android Lollipop update with final enhancements and it will be ready soon, as soon as by the first week of next month. As there are reports claiming that the Nexus 9 will be showing up on November 3rd, we can expect the Lollipop update for the HTC devices by the first week of February.

According to famous HTC ROM developer LlabTooFeR, the Google Play Edition versions of One (M7) and One (M8) will receive the Lollipop update in late November-December, and the Sense based versions will be getting the update around January-February. 

The developer has also revealed that the newly announced HTC Desire Eye along with HTC One (M8) Dual SIM, HTC One (M7) Dual SIM, HTC One (E8), HTC One (E8) Dual SIM and HTC Butterfly 2 will receive the update in between January-March.

Also, the HTC One Mini, HTC One Mini 2, HTC One Max, HTC Butterfly S and HTC Desire 816 are likely to get the Android 5.0 update sometime between March-May. Those Desire smartphones which are based on MediaTek processors are still under evaluation.

Along with Android 5.0 Lollipop update, the devices will also receive the HTC Eye Experience update, but not all features will be available on older HTC devices. There is high possibility of HTC not updating some of the above mentioned devices, so don't get too excited if your smartphone is included in the list, until HTC officially reveals the list of smartphones getting the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.
