After months of leaks and rumours, Google finally on Wednesday officially took the wraps of the much-awaited next-generation Nexus smartphone called Google Nexus 6. As expected, the new Nexus 6 is built in partnership with Motorola and is based on 2nd generation Moto X smartphone. The Nexus 6 actually feels like stretched out Moto X (2nd gen) packed with monstrous specifications.

As the name suggests, Nexus 6 is not only the 6th (sixth) Nexus smartphone till date but is also very large, measuring almost 6-inches. Meaning that it is actually not the replacement of Nexus 5, and the smartphone will be available as a smaller option.

The design philosophy of Nexus 6 is inspired by the new Moto X smartphone, already mentioned above. It comes with a contoured aluminium frame and dual front-facing stereo speakers along with Motorola's Turbo Charger, which can give up to six hours of use with only 15 minutes of charge. The smartphone will be water-resistant too, which means the 6 can easily withstand splash damage.

Google Nexus 6 comes in two colour options, Midnight Blue and Cloud White. Unlike previous generation Nexus smartphones, the Nexus 6 is not as affordable. The phone comes in two storage options, 32GB and 64GB (no 16GB variant this time). The unlocked 32GB LTE Nexus 6 is priced at $649, whereas the unlocked 64GB LTE Nexus 6 can be grabbed for $699.
