A top-of-the-line device, it is expected to be priced above all current Android flagship phones, including the likes of Samsung Galaxy SIII and HTC's own One X. According to tech blog, the smartphone will be priced at a whopping Rs 44,000 in the country.

This would make HTC Butterfly the most expensive Android smartphone ever launched in the country. This distinction was previously held by Samsung Galaxy SIII, which was initially launched at Rs 43,180 in May 2012. However, this price was soon cut to sub-Rs 40,000 levels and the device currently sells for approximately Rs 32,000 on the internet.

Even if launched at Rs 44,000, HTC Butterfly will still not touch the price tag of Apple iPhone 5, whose base version comes for Rs 44,500 in the country. As per the blog, HTC Butterfly is likely to be unveiled in the next two weeks and is expected to hit the stores on the same day.
