Sony has officially announced the mini version of Xperia Z1. Dubbed as Sony Xperia Z1 f, the smartphone is launched by Japanese telecom operator NTT DoCoMo as a part of it's Winter 2013 line-up of mobile devices. The Xperia Z1 f comes in four colours, Black, White, Pink and Lime, and will go on sale in Japan in late December 2013.

Update: Some more images of NTT DoCoMo brochure has hit the web. These new images confirms Xperia Z1 f aka Xperia Z1 Mini colours: Black, White, Pink and Lime. The images shows the device in every possible angle. According to Xperia BlogXperia Z1 f will be unveiled as a part of NTT DoCoMo winter line-up on October 10th.


Earlier (1st Oct): If this leaked documentation or brochure of Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo is believed to be true, then Sony is all ready with the mini version of Sony Xperia Z1. To be dubbed as Xperia Z1 f, probably known as Honami Mini, the smartphone has been spotted alongside Xperia Z1 in this document. According to the document, the Xperia Z1 f will carry SO-02F as it's model number, and will come in four different colours, black, white, pink and yellow.

Sony announced the long leaked Sony Xperia Z1, probably know as Sony Honami last week at IFA 2013. As, it's a flagship device, Sony will price it with premium tag, due to which many of them could not afford it. So, the company is rumoured to launch the mini version of the smartphone too, without limiting the specifications too much. There has been rumours of Sony working on a mini version of Xperia Z1 for a quite while now, with first live images of the phone leaked below.

So, Sony has officially released the third teaser image of Sony Honami today on their social media profiles. The teaser is the same which we leaked last night. The new teaser image focuses more on the camera part, showing off Sony G Lens and LED flash. It can be noticed clearly that some of the camera information included in earlier prototypes below the G branding, the 20.7MP and 1/2.3" sensor, are not included here.

Few days ago we published a report on Honami Mini, sharing it's rumoured specifications and today the device has itself appeared on the web via XDA forums. While, we've had a good look at the big Honami aka Xperia Z One, the new image below is reported to hold Honami Mini on the table alongside BlackBerry Q10.

Sony Xperia Z1 aka Sony Honami is near to arrive, and rumours related to mini version of the flagship is spreading like fire. Last month, VR-Zone reported that, Sony is not only planning to launch 5.0-inch Honami but they have also planned to launch the mini version of Honami with 4.3-inch screen and near about similar specs. It looks like Sony is following the footpaths of Samsung and HTC, to make mini version of flagship phones.

Samsung launched the flagship Galaxy S4 and then after some months, they launched the Galaxy S4 Mini. The same was adopted by HTC, HTC launched the flagship HTC One and after some months, they have launched the HTC One Mini, with HTC One Max on-the-way. It seems that flagship mini's are very much important to the manufacturers. If VR-Zone report is to be believed true, then Sony is currently working on mini version of upcoming Sony Honami with flagship specs.
