Samsung in a surprising move has started rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its 2013- flagship devices in Russia. The Android 5.0 update is now rolling out for the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note 3 devices in the country. It is quite disappointing to see that the newly launched Galaxy Note 4 is yet to receive the Lollipop update.

So far, we have seen the test builds of Android 5.0 Lollipop on the current Samsung flagship smartphone, Galaxy S5. Now, the last year Samsung flagship smartphone Galaxy S4 has started flashing with the update. Those folks at SamMobile have managed to grab an internal build of Android Lollipop for the Galaxy S4 and have been testing it for a while. However, the report claims that as it is in the early stages of testing, there are numerous bugs all over.

The Galaxy S5 being the flagship
smartphone of the South Korean tech giant, it is not a surprise for the vendor
to roll out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to the device at first. While we
have already spotted an early build of Lollipop on the smartphone, there are
reports suggesting that it will be updated in December. A SamMobile report reveals that
Samsung has updated the Lollipop base from the earlier LRW58J build to LRX02E
that brings quite a lot of changes.

The Android 4.4.3 KitKat update has already hit the Nexus devices and the Google Play Edition devices. Now, it is time for the update to be announced for the other smartphones. As per details revealed by Android Geeks, a leaked document suggests that the unlocked version of the current Samsung flagship model Galaxy S5 bearing the model number SM-G900H will be receiving the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update later this month.

Samsung India has dropped down the price of Galaxy S4 in India. The Galaxy S4, which was launched way back in April 2013 for Rs. 41,500 is now available online for just Rs. 29,860. Sudden drop in price is due to the launch of Galaxy S5 in India on April 11, 2014. There is no word on the pricing of Galaxy S5, though we are expecting it to be around Rs. 40,000.

Samsung has started rolling out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for Samsung Galaxy S4 in India. The update is rolling out to the Exynos-version of the device, it's the same as Russia update, which rolled out last week. The update is available for download via over-the-air and via Kies PC software. India is the second country to get KitKat update for Galaxy S4, after Russia.

Samsung has officially introduced a new Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 Mini variant in Russia today. Dubbed as Samsung Galaxy S4 Black Edition and Galaxy S4 Mini Black Edition, the smartphones comes in black colour with a faux leather back, similar to what we can see on the Galaxy Note 3.

Eagerly waiting to see how KitKat looks on Galaxy S4, SamMobile has something exclusive for you all. SamMobile has got their hands on to a brand new Android 4.4.2 KitKat test firmware for the Galaxy S4. The update is for GT-I9505, the European version of the handset (Snapdragon 600 one). The firmware is pretty stable enough to be used as a daily driver, but still has minor bugs, as it's still a test build.

Motorola has already started rolling out the Android 4.4 KitKat for Moto X, HTC and Sony has shared their update plans, and LG and Samsung are yet to give their statement regarding this update. After releasing the Android 4.3 update for Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 first in Russia, the company has now started rolling the same update in India as well. The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update is now live in India, and is available for download via Samsung PC software "Kies" and over-the-air (OTA). It's almost two weeks when we shared the first Android 4.3 Jelly Bean test firmware for Galaxy S4. That firmware for Galaxy S4 has got a new build, which according to Sammobile is the final build. Everyone knows that the newly announced Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch is currently only compatible with Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition. Still folks of Planete Galaxy decided to do a test on Galaxy S4, and the Galaxy S4 managed to connect to the Galaxy Gear without any issue. All the basic functions of Gear were executing and working smoothly using the Galaxy S4.

It's more than a year, Samsung has not yet released any major update for it's yesteryear flagship devices, the Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Note 2. But, Samsung is surely going to update both these devices to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean before the year end, along with this year flagship device Galaxy S4. If the folks of Sammobile are believed to be true, then Samsung has started testing Android 4.3 for the Galaxy Note 2.

After Apple and HTC launched the "Gold" edition of their flagship devices, Samsung has also moved forward and have officially unveiled the Galaxy S4 Gold Editions.
