Samsung to roll-out Galaxy Gear compatibility update in India this month, includes 6 Galaxy smartphones

Samsung has officially announced that they will be releasing a software update for 6 new Galaxy smartphones in India this month, which will make the device ready to use Galaxy Gear. At the time of launch, the Galaxy Gear was only compatible with Galaxy Note 3. Later on, Samsung released a software update for Galaxy S4 which added compatibility for the smartwatch. And now, 6 more Galaxy smartphones will be compatible with Gear.

Samsung has officially announced that they will be releasing a software update for 6 new Galaxy smartphones in India this month, which will make the device ready to use Galaxy Gear. At the time of launch, the Galaxy Gear was only compatible with Galaxy Note 3. Later on, Samsung released a software update for Galaxy S4 which added compatibility for the smartwatch. And now, 6 more Galaxy smartphones will be compatible with Gear.

According to Samsung, the update will roll-out for the Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Galaxy S4 Zoom. The exact timeline of the update is not yet revealed, but the update is confirmed to get rolled-out this month. 


Just for your information, Samsung Galaxy Gear is currently available in India for Rs. 22,990, and is only compatible with Samsung smartphones aka it cannot be used with smartphones from other brands.
