Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge officially launched in India starting at Rs. 49,900

Samsung had officially launched its flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge in the Indian market couple of weeks back. Both the smartphones are now available for purchase all around the country via online retailers as well as brick and mortar stores. Samsung introduced the Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge earlier this year in March at the MWC 2015.

After months of speculations, leaks and rumours, Samsung has finally took the wraps off the next generation Galaxy S series smartphone at the Unpacked 2015 event at MWC in Barcelona. This is the first time, Samsung has unveiled two Galaxy S series devices simultaneously, one is the Galaxy S6 and the other is the Edged variant of the same, called the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. As the name suggests, the latter comes with curved displays, but on both sides, which is the world's first.

The report also confirms that the curved model will have two edge displays and not just one like Note Edge.

It is likely that this time the firm will be launching a new updated version of the TouchWiz UI. Samsung has been claimed to revamp the UI optimizing its customized skin to near stock Android level. This is possible by cutting down some bloatware on the heavy handed fashion.

Samsung sends out invitations for March 1 event to unveil the Galaxy S6 & Galaxy S6 Edge

Samsung has sent out media invites for an event that is scheduled to happen on March 1 during the pre-MWC meet in Barcelona. The vendor is expected to unleash the flagship Galaxy S6 and the highly anticipated curved display model called Galaxy S6 Edge. The invite reads What's Next and features a curved display device, which clearly hints at the Galaxy S6 Edge.

The tech world is flooded with numerous reports regarding the flagship smartphone from Samsung that is likely to go official at the MWC 2015 tech show. A report by The Chosunilbo suggests that the South Korean tech giant is planning to unveil the Galaxy S6 during the MWC tech show on March 2nd. The report says that Samsung has developed multiple prototypes of Galaxy S6 and is undecided which one will end up being official.
